“I don’t feel like lovin her no more. Well how did it happen?  I spent two long years in a strange strange land, well how did it happen? I’d do anything just to be your man.” These lyrics were written by Brandon Flowers, the lead singer and keyboardist of The Killers. Could they possibly be alluding to the often told story of a boy who goes away to serve a mission and comes home to find that his girlfriend didn’t wait like she promised? This may be the case, or it may not, either way there is no way to prove it. However it has been said that Brandon Flowers is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Born in Henderson Nevada, located just outside of Las Vegas, he is the youngest of six children. His father joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints when he was five years old. When Brandon was eight his family moved to Nephi, Utah, but he moved back to Vegas as a teenager to live with his aunt. It was while walking the streets of Las Vegas that Brandon found an ad in the newspaper which ultimately resulted in the formation of The Killers.

Since their formation in 2002 The Killers have toured the world and released four albums, going Platinum multiple times. They are alternative rock and recognized for their original and abstract style. Brandon’s style can be attributed to growing up near Las Vegas. ”When you grow up in that world, entertainment gets in your blood, ... The flashiness and the glamour catch your attention”  He is known for wearing slick, stylish, and often abstract clothing.

In December of last year the band released their fourth album entitled Day and Age which includes their most recent hits “Human” and “Spaceman.” They released their first album Hot Fuss in 2004, which included the singles “Somebody Told Me” and “Mr. Brightside.” Brandon has been known to be the subject of a few controversies involving other bands such as The Bravery and Fall Out Boy.  Other controversies resulted when he said “I'm allowed to think that it [their second album Sam's Town] is the best album in twenty years, but I'll have my opinion and other people are going to have theirs.” It has also been suggested by Brandon Flowers that The Killers are on their way to becoming the next U2.

In 2005 he married Tana Mundkowsky, who joined the church shortly before their marriage. He now has two sons, Ammon and Gunner; Ammon, being named after the Book of Mormon missionary. According to Wikipedia Brandon’s religion is very important to him, although in the past he has been known to live a lifestyle contrary to LDS standards. In 2006  he changed his lifestyle giving up smoking and drinking, saying “I think I probably feel less guilt, and I'm also healthier than I've ever been. My wife being pregnant and all that really put things into perspective.” Whether he is still holding up to the standards today is undetermined. It has been mentioned however, that he accepts home teachers to his house, and has preformed in his ward variety show.
